FUNERAL SERVICE PRACTICUM 2542, 242

Funeral Service Practicum is a course designed to familiarize the student with basic funeral operations and to offer the student an opportunity to overview and participate in funeral service practice under the direction of a licensed preceptor in an assigned funeral home.  The student is encouraged to use both the practicum program and clinical program of John A. Gupton College to combine work experience with the College's academic program.  Special emphasis is given to local, state and federal regulations relative to the subject matter.  This program has been approved for 3 (three) continuing education credits by the Tennessee Board of Funeral Directors and Embalmers.

It is true to say that even in view of the massive influence that computers have had on global life, the telephone still remains as one of the major lifelines of every funeral home.  Our skill on the telephone is more vital today than ever before in the history of our great and noble profession.  This course will equip the student to be a more capable communicator with the public over the telephone.

Applicants will have 2 attempts to pass a 10 question multiple choice quiz by achieving a minimum score of 80.  The student will have 1 hour to complete the course and pass the test.  At the end of that period, the applicant will be automatically removed from enrollment.  Upon successfully passing the quiz, students are required to access their Certificate to receive course credit.

This educational seminar is focused on one subject: Rental Caskets.  This program is a business seminar which dissects the issue of rental caskets, and assists in giving the learner practical business tools in arriving at a rental casket approach that fits your particular communities needs and the needs of the funeral home.

Many parents know well that there is no greater pain than the loss of a child at birth.  It is the central point of this technical training continuing education program that the funeral professional must refresh and renew.  This course will review the techniques of infant embalming.

Even if you don't like history this one is a great continuing education program for every licensed funeral director and embalmer in the United States.  Not only do the licensed people learn, they learn about something that literally changed the way the United States did funerals, and that change has been permanent to this very day.
